Jim Lloyds Toy Soldier Show
Collecting toy soldiers: Plastic toy figures
and lead soldiers.
You will
find plastic toy soldiers and lead figures that are not generally shown, e.g. toy figures produced in Poland in the 1960’s to 80’s by PZG Polski Zwiazek
Gluchych; The Polish Union for the Deaf.
I also intend showcasing the lead
soldiers created by Hinton Hunt and those of Charles Stadden. I love the
eccentricity of Marcus Hinton’s fine sculpting; always historically accurate
if a little quirky. The figures on show are medieval figures painted by myself
in Wars of the Roses liveries. The figures of Charles Stadden; probably in his
time the most influential sculptor of 54mm custom made figures need little
introduction; they have a charm that when enhanced by fine painting cannot be
matched even by the flawless but sometimes characterless pieces that are at the
top end of modern artistry. However, this is only my perception and each
collector will rightly have their own very valid favourites.
There will be more pictures and many
types of both plastic and lead figures will be added as the site grows.
So, please enter my world of Toy Soldiers,
Jim Lloyd
